WHY THE MISFIT KITCHEN?

It’s my privilege to be able to use this project to promote my favorite queer fantasy series, THE TAROT SEQUENCE by KD Edwards. It’s purely for my heart - no ads, no links I would profit off of, and I intend to keep it that way. In fact, the only links you’ll find are to KD’s books, on the off chance you made it here without having read them already. 

But why? Why do this at all?

The title of this project comes from the misfit found family that grows with the pages of these books that I love so much, these books that have changed my life indelibly - but it’s also my way of honoring my own found family, many of whom came from the community these books created. When I was growing up, queer spaces like this didn’t exist, and it’s a joy to be able to see the younger generation blooming around us. THE TAROT SEQUENCE books have brought so much love into my life, and I’m forever grateful. 


However, as someone who loves to express that love through food, I have a unique problem: most of y’all live too damn far away! This blog is my answer to the fact that I can’t bring you a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies or a grilled cheese when you’re sad, or bake a cake to celebrate your accomplishments, or drop by with a pitcher of honey lemonade on a hot day just because. I promise you, you can cook these recipes - and if you have any trouble at all, don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
